The team’s requirements also included keeping a short distance, respecting a T-shirt, returning it to the kit manager, and no cell phones at dinner. Bellamy said:
“You have to work hard. If you can’t run short distances, I’m not the coach for you.” Some of the points that aren’t up for discussion are a ban on swapping T-shirts. Because you’ve worked too hard for that T-shirt. Don’t think you’re good enough to give it away. It won’t happen.
Not a single badge will ever touch the ground; you give it back to the person responsible for the form. It’s ours, it’s our form, it’s our badge. These players understand that and they’re okay with it.
