This is the former Manchester United player’s first coaching job. This season he managed to reach 17 home matches without defeat, but in 2025 the team’s results deteriorated significantly: the team scored only 4 points out of a possible 18.
The Hornets said in a released statement that the coxswain would lead the team in the upcoming match against Coventry City, but there was no comment on the coach’s future.
Watford are in 8th place in the championship.
