Head coach of the Uzbekistan national team Srečko Katanec decided to leave his position due to health problems.
In his appeal, the Slovenian specialist regretted that in the current situation he could not fully and professionally fulfill his duties.
Katanec has led the national team since August 2021. Under his leadership, he reached the quarterfinals of the 2023 Asian Cup. In the qualifying tournament for the 2026 World Cup, Uzbekistan took 2nd place in Group 1 , with 13 points after 6 matches.
