Before the first match of the Champions League quarter-final, PSG-Aston Villa fans fought. During the skirmish, fans used physical force, including hands, as well as throwing chairs and other objects. Earlier, France’s National Anti-Hooliganism Department warned of the possibility of such incidents, awarding the match 3 out of 5 points.
On match day, police increased security measures at train stations, which were visited by Aston Villa fans, and monitored the movement of visitors to the city.
