Manchester United have issued a message to fans amid a possible increase in ticket prices due to the need to comply with Profitability and Stability Rules (PSR).
If nothing is done, then we risk violating the PSR and the financial rules of the fire game. Every season we have suffered significant losses – more than £300 million over the last three years. This does not meet our strategy.
We must make a difficult choice. This has already affected a significant reduction in staff, as well as a reduction in the cost of the club in many areas.
We do not expect to cover the current shortfall in funds at the expense of fans, but we do need to review the ticket sales strategy to ensure we are pricing appropriately and offering fair discounts on our products.
