Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca commented on the Londoners’ defeat in the match against Ipswich (0:2).
It was a strange game in the sense that we created a lot of chances and could have scored a lot of goals, but they cleared the ball off the line or the goalkeeper made some wonderful saves.
We could have done a lot better and defended better at times.
They say (the penalty) is a bit controversial, but we have to accept that it is a penalty.
We made four changes from the last match because all players deserve to be on the pitch. Nobody expected us to finish the first part of the season in our current position. We are in a good position, but we can do much better. It’s a long road.
Joao (Felix) and Noni (Madueke) had chances, so it’s not a question of attackers. Sometimes you create chances but you fail to score.
We focus on each game individually. We’re not focused on the championship race or anything like that.
