Sporting Lisbon has announced the death of former coach and scout Aurelio da Silva Pereira at the age of 78. In 1988, he created and led the training and player development department. As a result, he discovered numerous talents and brought them to the club, where they grew and succeeded, eventually moving on to the great arena of world football. From Paulo Futra to Luisa Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as more modern talents, Aurelio da Silva Pereira is largely responsible for the careers of several Portuguese football figures over the past 40 years.
