Brazilian defender Rafina has ended his career.
The 39-year-old soccer player has already commented on this matter:
I’ve been planning this for a long time, but today I officially announce the end of my career as a professional soccer player. I’m sorry. This is a very special moment in my life. I’ve had a wonderful career. I didn’t expect to achieve what I’ve accomplished. Of course, life goes on, but I won’t be going to the stadium anymore, I’ll be leading the life I’ve always led. I want to postpone it as long as possible, because we’ve done it all my life, but I’ve already achieved all my dreams in soccer.
Rafina started playing for the Brazilian club Coriba, from where he moved to Schalke in 2005. He has also represented teams such as Bayern, Flamengo, San Paulo, and others. In January of this year, the player returned to Coritibu, but his contract was terminated in March.
With Bayern Munich, he became the German champion seven times, won the German Cup and Super Cup three times, and also won the Champions League, the European Super Cup, and the World Cup.
