The American tourist unexpectedly became a fan of the English club “Souttenda United.”
Evan Johnston, who arrived in England from Arizona, was going to see the sights of London, but ended up on a boat with the Souttenda fans, who were being sent to the National League match with Souttenda United. Johnston said:I had originally planned to sit on a river cruise boat for the Hop-On-Hop tour, which, I presume, was at the same pier. The cruise was supposed to last about an hour, and then I planned to spend the rest of the day exploring central London on the hop-on hop-off bus.
I was suspicious when I was in line and landed behind all the Souttenda fans, as they seemed to know each other and were chanting something I didn’t understand. But I still decided to sit out, because I thought if they checked the tickets, they’d just turn me over, and nothing terrible would happen.
But they didn’t check the tickets, so I quietly slipped aboard.
Evan soon met a group of fans of the team, who took him to the game to add his impressions.
I passed a large boat and onto the Sautenda game. It was so much fun that I plan to go to another Sautenda game next weekend, and I hope they can pull off the victory. I’m a Sautenda fan until I die.
Honestly, I’ve never followed football, so this is the first team that really interests me, and now I’m rooting for them.
