38-year-old goalkeeper Wayne Hennessy has announced the end of his career. I am grateful for the past and looking to the future, planning new steps. I still have remarkable memories of performances for both club and national team. I started at Wolverhampton, played for Crystal Palace, Bernley, and Nottingham Forest. It was an honor for me to play in the Premier League and represent Wales over 100 times. The summer of 2016 was the peak of my career: I reached the FA Cup final with Palace and the Euro semi-finals with my favorite team, Wales.
I thank the fans, coaches, medical staff, and the goalkeepers’ union for their support. It was an honor for me to play at the highest level and represent my country.
