Now, the question of a decent salary isn’t worth it.
Two better seasons
Mirlind was a raise for Kazan RPL – The team had just returned to the Elite Division, and we needed a suitable roster to gain a foothold. The third-place finish in the league was necessary to get used to the new pace and remember how to play with the best clubs. But after Rubin, he shot up and even climbed into the top five for a short time.
The same dynamics proved to be true for his striker’s career. In the first half of the championship, he scored four goals in 16 Premier League matches. At the same time, in the first round, he assisted on both of Lokomotiv’s goals, leading Kazan to a draw. And before the holidays, he scored the Victorious and the only goal against the Baltic.
It all started with a DAC performance in the spring half. At the end of April, the striker was cut through the knot of the bomb – and he scored five goals in six rounds at the end of the championship. Then it became clear that he was potentially one of the main stars of the league. He stayed to test this over the entire season.
The past campaign is an excellent confirmation of the legionnaire’s level. Mirlind’s improved statistics – now in 26 matches RPL He scored 16 goals and provided six assists. But it’s even more important to look at the context – the striker helped the team at critical moments. The ball and the goose helped in an effective match with Paris NN to win (4: 2), in the fourth round – a goal that brought a draw with Rostov, in the next two rounds – winning goals in the matches with Akron and Makhachkala. In October, Mirlind, in a tense match with Akhmat, scored in extra time to answer questions about the winner (2:0), and before the holidays, he managed to dispatch Akron’s double and participate in a productive game with CSKA (2:2, Daku scored). That’s all – only in the first half of the championship. But there were matches against Spartak, Rostov, and Orenburg.
Kazan’s main asset
When a striker with this frequency has a decisive influence on the outcome of his team’s matches, he is an elite striker. There were no illusions in Daku’s assessment – he confirmed his spring performance with a full-fledged season at the top level. The same matches with Khimki showed how much “Rubin” sometimes depends on the form of the Albanian, how non-alternative is in the final stage “Rubin” (both times Kazan lost in the “shootout” – 2: 3, while in all the team’s goals Mirlind took a direct role).
Rubin hasn’t had a Legionnaire of this level for a long time—for the club, Daku has become important in several ways. From a profit perspective, this is understandable. Even more important—from a revenue perspective. Throughout history, Kazan has only sold three players for more than €10 million, and the last few expensive offers were Makarov (€7.5 million) and Khvich (nearly €7 million). Now, another asset has appeared, for which you can ask for €10 million.
Moreover, sales talks have been ongoing since last fall. When Spartak was seriously considering Cordoba, the Albanian was associated with Krasnodar—he’s a player of roughly the same type and quality. In the winter, Lokomotiv appeared. And the same “Spartak” expressed interest. During the current season, Zenit appeared on the horizon. They were counting on a summer promotion – it was a 100% option.
Once again, Daku is a football player, for whom Rubin hoped (and quite rightly so) to help with at least €10 million. Mirlind himself also considered the move. However, Rubin is not a top-flight club with title aspirations, but a simple middle-class club, whose maximum goal is to bite the big boys and compete for the top 5.
IN
Russian Premier League The units are ready to lay down that kind of money. Krasnodar wouldn’t spend the money, staying in the team (it happened), Loko is trying to save money and prefers Russians, Spartak could – but the breeders have stopped in Europe. They preferred Livia Garcia (judging by the spring – a gross mistake). And in the summer, a club entered into negotiations with whom it was quite possible to conclude such a deal. Zenit reportedly activated an €8 million offer, and taking into account bonuses, Rubin could earn much more. The player was offered a contract with a salary of over €3.5 million per year. The deal was supposed to satisfy everyone, but it fell through at the last minute. According to
Credstvo mass information the club’s leadership was confused by the history of insulting chants against Macedonians and Serbs, which were sung by Mirlind, who was playing in Euro 2024. There were also rumors that there were disagreements when they agreed on financial terms.New contract – miracle
The time to sell has long since come. Mirlind spent two excellent seasons in Russia, dragging Rubin along, and showing that even in a team that doesn’t claim to be a medal winner, he could fight for the league’s top scorer position. He was the leader of Kazan, constantly bringing his best. And the club he played for.
There’s no doubt that DACA wouldn’t be lost at any of the top clubs that could enter. In Krasnodar, once again, everything is locked in for the right game with such a striker. Lokomotiv generally didn’t have an elite finisher, and Spartak was preparing to sell Ugalde—Mirlind would fit in perfectly there too. The same can be said for Zenit.
The deal with St. Petersburg didn’t materialize, but that didn’t mean the desire for a new call-up would disappear. Still, we’re talking about the fight for trophies, a bigger salary, and a higher level of teammates. And in this regard, the fact that the Kazan people even managed to extend the contract with the Albanian
– Fiction. The new agreement is calculated until the summer of 2029. According to rumors, Kazan was completely closed the financial need – they decided to spend money and wrote 3 million euros per year to their leader. Residents of Kazan are protected in all plans. The team retained its top scorer and avoided dissatisfaction, increasing his salary. At the same time, a long contract will allow you to wait for the most profitable offer and not be afraid of what will have to be agreed due to its soon expiration. Rubin remains a promising “dark horse” with a brilliant Legionnaire in the attack.
