Salernitana announced the cancellation of today’s training session due to a serious case of food poisoning affecting all twenty-one members of the squad, including players and staff.
They became unwell during the return trip from Genoa after yesterday’s first Serie B playoff with Sampdoria. The situation required an ambulance to arrive in Salerno Costa d’Amalfi, and a significant portion of the squad was hospitalized.
The club noted that it immediately took all necessary measures to protect the health of the squad members and informed the relevant authorities, reserving all sporting and other actions to protect the interests of the club and its employees a few days before the return leg. Therefore, pending the results of the investigation into the incident, Salernitana stated that it had sent an official request to reschedule the match with Sampdoria, which was scheduled for June 20.
