International Football Federation (FIFA), led by President Gianni Infantino, met in New York with representatives of several players’ unions from around the world. Key issues related to the health of players (men and women) were discussed. Particular attention was paid to players’ rest and recovery, as well as to competitions within the International Match Calendar (IMC). There is a general consensus that there should be at least 72 hours of rest between matches, and players should have at least 21 days of vacation at the end of each season. This period should be regulated individually by each club and players, according to their calendar and current collective agreements. Additionally, one rest day per week should be planned, but at the same time, the approach to this should be pragmatic.
