Valencia’s lawyers are preparing to file a lawsuit against Netflix Entertainment.
The reason for the lawsuit was a documentary about Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior, which was released on the streaming platform on May 15. One of the themes of the documentary was Vinicius’s struggle with racism and hostility from fans across Spain. One of the illustrations depicts a scene with the owner during a Valencia-Real Madrid match. The Valencia fans are shouting “Tonto,” which means “idiot” in Spanish, but the Netflix subreddit reports that the audience is chanting “Mono,” which means “monkey,” to Vinicius.Valencia asked to make changes to the film but was refused. Now, the Levante fans are preparing a lawsuit to protect the honor and dignity of the club and its fans.
