The German specialist has led the team since 2022. Under his leadership, it won the J-League Cup. The helmsman has twice been recognized as the best coach in the top division of the Japanese Championship (2022, 2024).
Skibbe was an assistant coach of the German national team from 2000 to 2004. In addition, at various times he managed Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Galatasaray, Eintracht Frankfurt, Eskisehirspor, Hertha, Karabükspor , the Grasshopper, the Greek national team and Al-Ain of Saudi Arabia.
