President of the Uruguayan Football Association Ignasio Alonso spoke about negotiations regarding a friendly match with the Russian team.
A decision regarding the match with the Russian team has not yet been made. There is no longer any possibility of holding a match in October. The match could take place in November—while we are still communicating on this matter.
We will officially announce how the decision will be made and how our federation will agree.
Remember, Uruguay is ranked 13th in the FIFA International Football Federation rankings, and Russia is ranked 35th. Earlier in Indonesia, they denied reports of an agreement to host a friendly match with the Russian team.
