Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli expressed his dissatisfaction with the referee’s decision not to remove the opposing player for a flagrant violation of the rules.
In the Round of 32 match Between Arsenal and Brentford (1-1), in the 29th minute, the visiting midfielder Christian Norgor made a rough tackle, holding Gabriela Martinelli’s leg. Referee Simon Huper was limited to a yellow card warning, and the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system found no grounds for intervention. I haven’t seen a replay of the incident, but I’m sure that at that moment, my opponent acted very rudely and could have seriously injured me. He stated it wasn’t intentional, and I’m inclined to believe him. Nevertheless, his actions could have resulted in a fracture. In my opinion, it was a dangerous foul that deserves a red card. For complete confidence, I need to see a replay. But, in my opinion, it was a rude and unacceptable incident.
