La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) are exploring the possibility of creating a system for automatically appointing referees for matches and evaluating their work based on the season’s results.
The system is expected to take into account a variety of factors and statistical data so that artificial intelligence can recommend two to three of the most suitable candidates for each specific competition.
The initiative has received positive reviews from football clubs, with Real Madrid, in particular, expressing its support for the project.
In the near future, the League plans to hold meetings with technical specialists to determine the feasibility of developing a system with the required functionality.
