CSKA fully paid to Heerenveen for the transfer of the current Sevilla striker Chidera Ejuke. This was reported by the press service of the Dutch club.
Heerenveen received the final payment for the transfer of Chidera Ejuke. Ejuke was sold to Moscow CSKA in 2020. The remaining amount was transferred via the former player CSKA Victor Davila, who, in turn, had to CSKA.
CSKA was allowed to pay the transfer fee he agreed with Heerenveen four years ago in installments. Due to the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine and a set of sanctions, Heerenveen was forced to wait for the final payment. The club appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CASE) and received a positive decision. However, no payment solution has been found.
Everything changed when CSKA a message arrived stating that the Russian club still owed Davila payments. Davila advocated CSKA in the 2023/2024 season, and a year later he joined the Mexican club America for a million dollars. Now Davila has transferred part of the amount he owed CSKAin Heerenveen in order to indirectly fulfill its obligations towards CSKA. Heerenveen has received permission from the Dutch Ministry of Finance for this purpose.
Previously FIFA imposed on CSKA transfer ban due to debt to Heerenveen.
