The auditing company Deloitte presented a ranking of the football clubs with the highest income based on the results of the 2023/24 season.
The first place was taken by Real Madrid (1,045.5 billion), which became the first football club whose revenue exceeded 1 billion.
The completion of renovations to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium brought match revenue to €248 million last season, an increase of 103% on the previous year. The growth was achieved mainly through the sale of personal seat licenses, which generated an increase of around €76 million, as well as the sale of new VIP seats and an increase in stadium capacity to from December 2023.
The club also recorded a 20% increase in commercial revenue (from 403 million to 482 million), helped by increased merchandise sales and new sponsorships.
The second is Manchester City (837.8 million). The gap of 207.7 million between the top two clubs is the largest ever (the previous figure was 84 million, recorded in the 2018/19 season).
