Lokomotiv forward Vladislav Sarveli summarized the results of the first part of the season and expressed confidence that the team will perform better in the spring.
I want to go as high as possible. We have every chance of achieving this. The main thing is to have a good time in this second part of the season. Before the winter break, we showed that we could fight for the top places. It is now important to effectively conduct winter training and prepare for the resumption of the championship and the Russian Cup. I think we are capable of a lot of things.
We had a team conversation after the end of the first part of the season. I don’t think it’s worth recounting what we talked about within the team. But I can say that conclusions have been drawn from these failures and that we are ready to do better in the spring. In any case, we see that we can do it. And we want to finish the championship as high as possible.
I think we can be satisfied with the way the first part of the season went. After losing several leaders in the offseason, we showed a good result, we are in the leading group of the championship, and are only four points from first place. Yes, you always want more. I also wanted RPL perform better and go further in the Russian Cup in the “Path RPL“It’s a pity that they lost on penalties to Dynamo, although they could have beaten their opponents after two games. But the main thing is that nothing has been lost yet in both tournaments. We can go higher in the league and go far in the Cup thanks to the “Path of the Regions”. So we are preparing for the spring and will do everything possible to please our fans.
I think that there is no need to fundamentally change anything in the game and in the spring preparation. Of course, some adjustments are necessary to avoid the same loss of points as before the winter break. But overall, we have a good team, we have shown quality football in most matches this season. We need to develop all this and then success will come.
Let us recall that after eighteen rounds, Lokomotiv is in fifth place in the standings RPL. The “red-greens” finished 2024 with a series of four matches without a win (including the Russian Cup).
In the first match of 2025, Lokomotiv lost to Shanghai Port (1:2).
