Head coach of the French team Didier Deschamps announced his resignation from his position as coach of the France team after World Cup-2026.
I’m not here to make an announcement, but it will be in 2026. I have been working with the national team since 2012, the contract runs until 2026, until the next World Cup. And then that’s it, at some point you have to finish. A clear decision matured in my head. I carry out my work with a constant desire and passion to ensure that the French team maintains the highest level. But 2026 is a very good time to break up. You never want to stop when everything is looking good, but you need to be able to say “stop”. There will be life afterwards.
