The former footballer played for the Vladikavkaz team in 1995 (then it was called Spartak-Alania) and became champion of Russia.
There is a memorable goal made by Mikheil Kavelashvili. In a home match against Chernomorets, he gracefully beat his opponent, jumped one-on-one with the goalkeeper and collected the ball above him. All the fans in the stadium stood up and started applauding him.
It was a superb technical performance, in my opinion one of the best goals I have seen. He didn’t hit it at full speed, but threw it to the detriment of his ankle joint. Very technical. In general, Kavelashvili stood out for his technique.
