The Amsterdam Court of Appeal has again extended the pretrial detention of former Spartak Queens football player Promes and postponed consideration of his case until 2026. On June 22, the court had already extended Promes’s sentence for a period of time beginning on July 8; a new hearing took place today. Announcing the court’s decision, Presiding Judge Rob Heffers stated:
Special personal circumstances that would justify the need for release from custody have not been established.
It should be recalled that the football player was arrested in the United Arab Emirates on June 12 and subsequently extradited to the Netherlands. Source link
