The Old Trafford Regeneration Taskforce has completed feasibility work to develop options for building a new arena or renovating the existing arena.
The taskforce determined that, through redevelopment, Old Trafford’s capacity could be increased to 87,000 and the potential capacity of the new stadium to 100,000.
Both options remain under consideration. Manchester United are set to decide on their preferred option before the summer.
Over 50,000 Manchester United supporters were also surveyed, focus groups were conducted and open days were held at Old Trafford to inform the taskforce’s work. The survey found that over 90% of supporters have a positive view of the ambitions to create a world-class stadium.
