Argentina national team striker Thiago Almada will become an Atletico Madrid player.
The club from the Spanish capital has officially announced the completion of negotiations with the Brazilian Botafogo. The 24-year-old Argentinian is expected to fly to Madrid in the near future, undergo a physical, and sign a contract.
Earlier, Spanish newspapers reported the transfer for €40 million, but Insider Fabrizio Romano reported that Atletico had finally agreed to buy 50% of the player’s rights for €21 million.
Zenit St. Petersburg was also interested in Almada during the current offseason, offering Botafogo €35 million.
