Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl commented on the cancellation of negotiations for the transfer of Nicholas Williams from Athletic to the Munich club.
Of course, we considered the possibility of buying a player like Nico Williams. But when they recognized his salary demands to begin negotiations, they quickly decided to back out and said, “Well, then we won’t do it.”
Recall that Williams extended his contract with Athletic until 2035, despite interest from Bayern and Barcelona.
